It’s not always easy to find time to hang out with the loved ones when we are caught up in our work or school.
It’s important to make time in our busy lives though to keep the bond strong and share some activities with friends and family. It’s a way to relax after a long day and to create some great memories that will make you smile for a long time.
If you’re looking to spend more quality time with your daughter or your mother, we’ll give you 5 ideas of things you can do together:
A spa day
Every mother and daughter will enjoy treating themselves and having nothing else to do than relaxing in a swimming pool or a jacuzzi while drinking a warm tea or a refreshing glass of cucumber water. You can get a body massage or a face mask as well and spend the day catching up in a nice and cosy place. A spa day is a good idea to relieve the stress of a busy day at work and to take care of ourselves.
A karaoke night
Channel your inner Madonna and go have fun on a karaoke night! Even if you’re shy, just remember that the room will be filled with people who aren’t professional singers, so there is nothing to be afraid of. Pick a song that both of you like, sing it a couple of times at home and take it then to a karaoke night. And if you really don’t feel confident enough to take the stage, you can still enjoy some cocktails and sing along from your chair.
A cooking class
What about signing up for a French cooking class? This is an ideal activity to get out of your comfort zone, explore a new type of cooking together and learn how to do crêpes, coq au vin and other famous French dishes. The great thing about having cooking skills is that it will also benefit your guests when you’ll throw your next dinner party. Imagine their surprise!
A city trip
This is the opportunity to explore a new city and to discover a new culture. If you want to relax, you can pick a city next to the beach, in France or in Morocco.
If you’re into shopping, Milan or London would be the perfect getaway for you both. And if you love hiking or taking a walk in nature, you should organise a trip to Ireland or Scotland.
A movie marathon
Rainy days can be boring and puts everyone in a bad mood. Pick a series or a film that you both like and make a day of films in the living room. You can also choose something that your mother or your daughter haven’t seen yet to make her discover your favourite films. Don’t forget to bring some popcorn and sweets, you can even order sushi or a pizza and the rainy day will become much more enjoyable.
